At left is 1993's first place winner - Steve Spencer of Ft. Worth, Texas. Steve never entered our contest again (might as well retire at the top ;-) but did go on to become a major event sponsor in later years, for which we will always be grateful.

We tied in the demo scupture with the popular SPI "Pirates' Days." Everyone in town donned eyepatches for a day - great fun.
