Pulling a project of this magnitude together requires the time, energy and dedication of lots of really talented people.
Thomas Koet is originally from The Netherlands. He began sculpting in 1998 soon after he earned his Masters in Industrial Design Engineering. It didn't take long for Thomas to become a sculptor to watch. He has participated in almost all of the large projects in Europe and China and was a sculptor on the Guinness World Record for world's largest sand sculpture in Almere, Holland 2001. He has placed in many competitions in the US, Canada and China. Thomas also plays a key role as a partner in Sandsational Sand Sculpting. "It is important to me to make a sculpture that has meaning and is interesting to adults but at the same time can still be enjoyed by children." "What I enjoy about sand sculpting is that if I do a good job I can touch people's emotions."
